Privacy Policy — SERP Location Spoofer & Local Rank Checker

Last updated: 27 March 2026

Overview

This privacy policy covers two Chrome browser extensions published under the same developer account: SERP Location Spoofer and Local Rank Checker. SERP Location Spoofer modifies Google search URLs to display results from a user-specified location. Local Rank Checker opens a background Google search tab to check where a target domain ranks for a given keyword from a selected location. Both extensions are developed by Artur Ferreira / The GEO Lab.

Data We Collect

The extensions store the following data locally on your device only, using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage.local API:

  • Your currently active spoofed location (e.g. “London, UK”)
  • Your saved favourite locations (up to 6 entries)
  • Whether location spoofing is currently enabled or disabled

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to any server, third party, or external service.

Data We Do Not Collect

The extensions do not collect, store, transmit, or process:

  • Personal identifiable information of any kind
  • Browsing history or search queries
  • IP addresses or real geographic location
  • Cookies, credentials, or authentication data
  • Any information about the web pages you visit
